Half Term

Hi all,

It has been a while since i have last informed you of what i have been up to. My apologies and ill try to fill you in on everything now! i am currently in the middle of half term break but i shall back track a bit for you first. I went paintballing on Sunday the 3rd on Feb which was amazing and scary and everything put together. We were given an overall suit piece of clothing and a protective vest (which did not do much at all). We were all split into odds and evens and these were our teams. Each team managed to consist of kids, a gap or two and a teacher. WE played a total of six rounds, each game differing to the next. Our paintball guns were rather heavy and cold to hold as we were out fighting for our lives in mud, cold, bush and everything else you could think of!  The war wounds i obtained were pretty impressive but unfortunately i couldn't take pictures as they weren't in the most appropriate places. The end game somehow ended up with all of the gaps stuck in a fort whilst the kids had to use up the rest of their paint bullets, which meant we got slaughtered and hit multiple times! It was one of the scariest things i have ever done but it was a hell of a lot of fun!

So now we are on half term break. Everyone has gone their separate ways as they all pre planned trips before i arrived. So Saturday was my very relaxing day, watched some movies and TV episodes on m laptop and did some washing. Sunday i was invited over to the Hannah’s house. The Hannah’s are residents in the school as Kate is a house parent and husband Kevin is an Aussie teacher here. They are very lovely and they have 3 boys all under the age of ten which means they are extremely full on. Anyway they had another family round for a Sunday roast lunch and i joined in. It was great to be back in a family atmosphere. The rugby was on so the dads and boys watched as the mums, dogs and i went for a walk in the muddy field with the wind and rain in our faces.

The Hannah’s were also kind enough to invite me to go with them to Henley to Kate’s parents house. They have a beautiful old 3 story house right on the main street so you could walk everywhere from home. We had a look at the Henley regatta river which happened to be up quite high, so it was running extremely fast. Kate’s parents were very welcoming which was lovely. i felt very spoilt with my own room and a double bed! i never thought id see one again until i got home. On Tuesday we went to the river and rowing museum which was very interesting. It featured the history of Henley, the Thames and Rowing. There was also an exhibition of Wind in the Willows as it was filmed in Henley. Kate’s sister arrived with her kids so Granny spoilt us all to go to the cinema and see Wreck it Ralph in 3D. Wednesday was my day of shopping in town. There was the main street which had all of the shops on so i went for a walk and bought a few bits and pieces. But i have found everything is very expensive here, and i must try and save my money for items of necessity, bu7t i can spoil myself sometimes right? we got back home last night at about 7pm so i cooked some tea, watched a movie and did some online shopping!! for necessary items of course :)

My room with a double bed and view from the third level

Today i have been for a run in the freezing cold, clean my room at least 4 times, done two loads of washing, changed all of my bedding and am about to head upstairs to clean the Gap Flat. Now i must explain the gap flat is a room upstairs supplied to the Gaps with a small kitchen, TV fridge etc. However the gaps are told to keep it  clean and tidy so that the cleaners will also come and clean and collect the rubbish. For some reason the boys obviously don’t understand this and it is an absolute pigsty! I’m going to attempt to clean it and then show them how much ore room there is inside the flat!

Tomorrow i am venturing into Bath with Christie who is doing her uni placement here. She lives close by and has offered to take me in to see some sights which shall be good. Ill stay in Wells tomorrow night with Helen who is also an Aussie teacher here at school then we will go to lunch and do the markets on Saturday which will be lovely. i start back at work on Sunday afternoon as the boarders return to start the next five weeks of lent term then it is Easter!

Can i also ask for some email addresses. I don’t have anyway which is a shame! so just hit me up with an email of your email so i can then email! got it? send to Mollystubbings@gmail.com

Okay i must go clean and collect my washing!

Talk soon

  1. Most boys have no idea how to clean, I'm making sure Lachlan does!
